The components of SSA include appointment of teachers, teacher’s training,
qualitative improvement of Elementary Education, provision of Teaching
Learning Materials, establishment of Block and Cluster Resources Centres (BRC,
CRC) for academic support, construction of class rooms and school
building, establishment of Education Guarantee Centres, Integrated
Education of the Disabled and Distance Education.
There are certain broad strategies
central to SSA programme. They consist of institutional reforms,
sustainable financing, community ownership, institutional capacity
building, improving mainstream educational administration, habitation as
unit of planning, accountability to community, priority to education of
girls, focus on special groups, thrust on quality & role of the teachers,
District Elementary Education Plans (DEEP), public private partnership
etc.
